I’ve always been interested in L1s, and many of you know there’s no shortage of them.
What’s rare are the ones still building with a clear purpose after almost a decade.
@iota is one of those.
It started in 2015 as a public infrastructure project built around a simple idea:
→ trust should be a native feature of the digital world, not an afterthought.
→ It runs as a permissionless and scalable system built for real-world use.

> Multi-VM design for cross-network interoperability

They found their way into practical solutions:
1. verifying sustainability data in Digital Product Passports (Digimarc)
2. tokenizing creative rights for media projects (Valunode)
3. powering digital trade infrastructure (World Economic Forum’s TradeTech)
4. supporting government pilots for purpose-bound money and sustainability incentives
Already been building and refining since 2015. More than 10 years...
That’s already longer than most L1s even survive.
