Seeing a lot of people coming here to criticize Monad reminded me that indeed there was no mention of the testnet in this airdrop arrangement.
I remember back then the total number of addresses participating in the testnet was quite high, almost 90 million, but this time the total number of addresses for the airdrop is about 230,000, and not a single one was reserved for testnet users. So I completely understand the backlash, as it feels like a betrayal; the phrase "celebrating together" really didn't take into account the feelings of the testnet brothers.
Although I was sent a card by them, I’m not so easily bought off. With so many cards, how many coins can one airdrop? I’m not that cheap. When writing the article, I was just objectively explaining their airdrop plan.
I can also help convey everyone’s opinions to the team later, but debts should be settled with the right people, so everyone go and @monad's official Twitter and @Dc to vent your frustrations, as I’m not the one making the policies 😂😂😂.
It's been over 20 minutes since the claim portal for @monad opened, and I still haven't been able to log in. However, from the released blog, it seems that this airdrop from Monad is likely the largest since @pudgypenguins.
It covers:
- Important DEX traders, including those from Hyperliquid and Phantom Wallet (spot and perpetual), as well as token traders launching on Virtuals and other memecoins.
- Major depositors in important DeFi protocols, including Aave, Euler, Morpho, Pendle, Lighter, Curve, PancakeSwap, and Uniswap.
- Long-term owners of various NFTs, including Azuki, Chimpers, CryptoPunks, Doodles, Fluffle, Hypurr, Mad Lads, Meebits, Milady Maker, Moonbirds, Pudgy Penguins, Redacted Remilio Babies, Sappy Seals, Solana Monkey Business, and Wassies.
- Selected members from various communities, participants from the Legion fundraising platform, Backpack users, Fantasy Top heroes, MetaDAO token holders, ARC community members, active participants in the LobsterDAO Telegram group, and notable Farcaster users, among others.
- Also, cardholders of Monad, and although not mentioned, it likely includes @KaitoAI Yappers.
It's truly a celebration for everyone.
What impressed me the most is that they even arranged airdrops for those who forgot to claim their cards, which is very thoughtful.
However, with such a wide coverage, the individual airdrop amount might not be very high. We'll have to wait for the TGE to see the specifics, but for now, let's thank Monad for their grand vision.
